Research (Part II)
Gents - here's another must see: Charlie Boorman, a couple other privateers and a $100,000+ budget take on The Dakar...awesome story of bike preps, maintenance, and the day-to-day trials of the race...absolute wreckage!
Mary and I watched the entire series this past winter. We BOTH loved it! We also watched "The Long Way Round" and "The Long Way Down" and are eagerly awaiting the new series Ewan and Charlie are working on now where the go to the tip of South America. P.S. If Baja goes well, I want to do the Dakar. (Especially if it goes back to Africa)
I was expecting that (re: Dakar) - I'm reading everything I can about those nutters. Regarding your comment: "If Baja goes well..." what could possibly go wrong? Really?
I've seen/read the other "Long way..." stories - awesome stuff. Hadn't heard about the S. America plan - looking forward to that.
I don't know about doing the Dakar but when I move down to Oz we MUST cross the Simpson Desert on motorcycles...with Deggz, Michelle and Dylan chasing in a 4WD (maybe my 'Bucket List' is a bit tamer than yours!)
